Kuala Lumpur Deer Park
The Deer Park is located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur city.
It is interesting attraction in the vicinity of the Lake Garden. In this park,
deers roam freely, oblivious of the visitors.
A well-chosen peaceful area at the Lake Gardens that is more than 2ha in size has been turned into a suitable habitat for the deer.
They are, however, very tame and accustomed to being fed by visitors.
The main attraction here is the kancil (mousedeer), the smallest hoofed
animal, and a very popular character in Malaysian folktales for its cunning wit.
According to the legend, despite its small size, the kancil was able to fool many other greater animals such as the tiger, the crocodile and the snake.
Perhaps Malaysia's most famous deer, the rainforest mousedeer or kancil, can be seen here. The kancil has a place in legends, folktales and history; one
of these stories involves the founding of Malacca.
The Deer Park is a beautiful spot where the landscaping has been well
thought out and lush trees and shrubs planted to ensure that the habitat is cooling and peaceful. There are also ponds around the park.
Bring along your kids as the visit could be an educative trips.
