Visit "James Bond Island" in Phuket
This is the reason why everyone goes on the "James Bond Island" tour. They want to stand on the beach in the same place as Christopher
Lee and Roger Moore some 25 years ago.
Thousands of tourists arrive each year to have their picture taken
in front of "James Bond Island". This island is known to the Thai people as Tapu Island or Nail Island.
The bay is noted for it's numerous weird sheer cliffs rising from
the green waters. As you travel around Phang Nga Bay by boat,
the amazing variety of scenery is matched only by the way in
which the light and perspective change during the day. Morning
is painted with a hazy pastel-coloured. Late afternoon is a
favourite, as the sun begins to fade and transforms the limestone
peak into pink, green and plue shades, as the sea retains its liquid-mercury shimmer with an orange glow.
The short stretch of beach facing "James Bond Island" is packed with souvenir stalls and at the far end there is a toilet block.
The 52 souvenir stalls sell cheap trinkets and take up every inch of space.
